Hot Vanilla and Caramel Shake

2 cups of milk
1.75 oz hard caramels
1-2 scoops vanilla ice-cream

Gently heat the milk in a saucepan without boiling. Add the hard caramels and heat until melted. Stir occasionally. Place mixture in a blender together with the vanilla ice-cream and blend until smooth.  Serves 2.

Cranberry Smoothie

Ingredients:
1 cup cranberries, fresh or frozen
2/3 cup cranberry/raspberry juice
1 cup raspberries (frozen if you can’t find fresh)
8 oz of plain yoghurt
1 ½ cups of ice

Instructions:
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Adjust with more ice or juice if necessary.

Enjoy this delicious smoothie anytime.

Summer Beverages – Non Alcoholic

Spanish Rose Lemonade

What You Need:

1 (12 oz.) can frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed
4 C of grape juice
Juice from 1 lime
2 C of club soda

How to Make It:

Place the lemonade into a pitcher.
Pour in the grape juice and the lime juice.
Stir until blended together well.
Slowly stir in the club soda.
Add ice just before serving.

Makes 8 servings

Ginger Ale Mimosa Punch

What You Need:

8 C of orange juice
8 C of Ginger Ale
Ice
Orange slices

How to Make It:

Pour the orange juice into a punch bowl.
Add the ice to the orange juice.
Pour the ginger ale over the top and blend together well.
Garnish with the orange slices before serving.

Makes 16 servings

This refreshing drink is a hit every time it’s served at a party. Any lemon lime soda may be used in this recipe.

Sparkling Raspberry Floats

What You Need:

1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen raspberries in syrup, thawed
1 (25.4 oz.) bottle sparkling white grape juice, chilled
1 pint of raspberry sherbet, softened

How to Make It:

Puree the frozen raspberries in the blender until smooth.
Press the mixture through a strainer into a small bowl to remove any seeds.
Place the raspberry puree into a punch bowl.
Stir in the juice until blended in well.
Add the sherbet and blend until frothy.
Serve immediately in frosted punch cups.

Makes 12 servings

Hawaiian Colada Cooler

1 C cream of coconut
3 C chilled pineapple juice
1 C of Club Soda
5 C crushed ice
Pineapple chunks

Place the cream of coconut and pineapple juice into the blender.  Pour in the club soda.  Blend until the ingredients are just combined.  Add the crushed ice a little at a time, blending until just slushy as add.  Pour into 8 glasses and garnish with a pineapple chunk.

Makes 8 servings

These coolers just say “cool.”  Instead of individual servings pour the slushy mixture into a small punch bowl and garnish the top with pineapple rings instead.

Iced Coffee Mocha

1 C of strong brewed coffee
2 tbsp vanilla
1 pint vanilla ice cream
Chocolate shavings

Pour the coffee into the blender.  Add the vanilla in with the coffee.  Carefully scoop the ice cream into the blender.  Blend just until the ingredients are just mixed together.  Place the mixture into a punch bowl.  Top with the chocolate shavings just before serving.

Makes 16 servings

This creamy punch is a great addition to any outside lunch party.  Place a can of whipped cream next to the punch bowl along with a bowl of maraschino cherries to use as a garnish.

Chocolate Soy Smoothie

(serves 1)
1 cup soy milk (plain or vanilla)
1 medium banana, quartered
2 tbsp chocolate syrup
3 ice cubes

In a blender, blend all ingredients until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!

This chocolate banana soy smoothie is a great way to start the day. Your children will love this treat on special occasions.
